I’m planning a trip to attend Tomorrowland Thailand! The festival is being held at Wisdom Valley, Pattaya and this is where I’ll be updating as I plan. It will eventually turn into the blog post for the trip!
Planning a trip to Pattaya, Thailand
I use Wanderlog to dump my ideas into and then start booking activities closer to the time. More activities booked in advance means not having to include it in the budget once I’m there #GirlMath. But really, this app is great because you can get a visual of where things are on the map, and how much it all costs. The budget breakdown even converts the currencies used to one of your choice.
Getting Tickets to Tomorrowland Thailand
Buying tickets for Tomorrowland is largely based on luck. They sell out extremely quickly due to the hundreds of thousands of people attempting to get tickets worldwide. In fact, the Thailand tickets were sold out in minutes, and we barely managed to get Friday day passes.
You’ll want to set up your Tomorrowland Account at any point in the year, then keep an eye out for the announcement of pre-registration & sale dates. Pre – registration usually opens in January with the packages and ticket sales in February/March.
There are two sales: One for Global Journey Packages which include tickets, merch, accommodation and shuttles to and from the event venue, and then another final sale for the tickets on their own.
I would jump on the store page within half an hour of the sale start just so that it automatically puts you in the queue once the store ‘opens’. It puts you in a random position in the buying queue. From there you have to wait until it’s your turn or it is sold out. It can take hours to get in, and there are notifications on the side of the screen as to what is still available. When we didn’t get anything in the global journey sale, the chance to join the waiting list was offered to those still in the queue once all packages were sold out.
If you get in you’ll only have 15 minutes to complete your purchase. Make sure you have enough money to buy the tickets in one transaction and that you have notified your bank you’ll be making an international transaction. Tickets are still being sold as you try to purchase yours, so it may take a few tries for your purchase to go through as well.
Getting to Pattaya
Flying from New Zealand, it looks like there’ll have to be a layover and we’re aiming for one in Singapore because Changi airport is one of the largest in the world with so many things to see and do!
To get an idea of flight costs or if you feel like booking through Trip.com check out the below:
Where to Stay in Pattaya
Food & Drink
One of my favourite things to research is interesting bars, especially ‘hidden’ ones.
Other than that, trying street food in Asia is always a must.
Sights & Activities in Pattaya
Other than the first ever, Tomorrowland Thailand, we’re still researching activities around Pattaya. I like to use Get Your Guide to book tours and entry fees in advance:
Thanks for joining me on my journey!
Would love any recommendations on food to try, bars to find, and activities that are a must! I will also be attending EDC Thailand in Phuket – so check out my planning for that and the general Thailand trip!
